This visual branding & label design project brought the unique spice blends of a renowned NYC restaurant to the retail market. We aimed to capture their culinary heritage and vibrant personality in a way that would resonate with consumers. The resulting brand identity celebrates the restaurant and pays homage to the owner’s grandfather, an inspirational culinary pioneer. A custom crosshatch character illustration, featuring the grandfather, serves as the logo and embodies the brand’s warmth, authenticity, and commitment to family tradition. In addition, custom letters were created from an old handwritten letter to form the logo text.
Complementing the logo, a vibrant color palette of warm spices and earthy tones reflects the bold flavors and global influences found in their products. We also developed a series of labels to showcase the individual spices, clear descriptions, and consistent branding elements. This cohesive design effectively translates the restaurant’s culinary expertise and family legacy into a visually appealing retail product line, poised to attract a wider audience of food enthusiasts.
